Cross-generation global knowledge

I spend a lot of time thinking about how much cultural, community, and familial knowledge is locked behind walled gardens. Facebook, Twitter, Instagram. In previous generations, knowledge was passed down from person to person, from generation to generation. These days, that knowledge is stuck on platforms that may not exist in ten years, and who are not incentivized to let you keep your knowledge. How do I help people keep that knowledge across generations?

Office Hours

Over the last couple of years I've been meeting people informally to chat, originally through a program called Out of Office Hours (started by Dustin Senos), and these days through ADPList. Whether they were conversations with people I already knew, friends, or otherwise, I've learned a lot about myself and others. Fred Oliveira has been doing something similar and highly recommended it. Set up a call if you want to chat. I usually do these on Wednesdays, but let me know if any of the available times don't work for you and I'll try my best to work around your schedule.
